The new Nuance® PowerMic™ III enhances and builds upon the preceding PowerMic II by adding a streamlined thumb-control operation that utilizes an optical control pad under your thumb. This eliminates any moving parts adding to the microbial protection designed into this unit for use in infectious environments like hospitals and doctors offices.
It also replaces the need for your mouse. Using the PowerMic III you will be able to navigate around on-screen fields and menus along with easily making and controlling voice recordings. It empowers you to navigate with easy report templates and, using "voice fill-in" capabilities, insert recognized text directly into the report template fields.
The new Nuance PowerMic 3 (PowerMic III) for Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2 offers a shorter body, with options for short cord which works really well with laptops or Windows-based tablets. It's fully compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10.
If you're someone who uses the built-in mouse function of the power mikes with Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2 or earlier editions of Dragon Medical, with or without EMR/EHR, then the new touchpad on the Nuance PowerMic 3 gives you more precise control than the TrackPoint force-operated "pencil eraser" does on the PowerMic 2.
The much loved PowerMic 2 will continue to be offered in parallel with the PowerMic 3. Some users still prefer the Nuance PowerMic 2 because of its longer profile and curved ergonomic shape, which places the microphone element closer to your mouth without having to hold your arm up as high.
